Before we come out
Whether the job is in San Diego or anywhere else in San Diego County, this is what has to be ready. Pass it to your contractor.
- The drain is set and flushed.
- Blocking is installed around the walls, typically 2x10 or 2x12.
- The curb (also called the dam or threshold) is in place: a minimum of two 2x4s, and three is recommended.
- The shower floor is solid. If it moves or feels like it could give way underfoot, we cannot mop it. Hot mop is heavy.
- The correct shower drain is installed.
- Demolition is finished. We do not demo.

Usually within the next day. A pan is normally dry enough to step on about two hours after we finish, and that is when the flood test can be done.

Do you do demolition or tile?
No. Demolition is normally done before we are called, and we do no tile work. We work with tile setters, and they set the tile over our pan.
